Tell us your story.

I feel like it's almost unavoidable to not be a part of the digital space because of the generation we live in. The way you interface with the world is through online channels.

I would say when I first got more heavily involved in the digital space as an active participant was when I worked at a fashion startup. Technology enables you to share things with people that wouldn't have had access to it before. When you think of style and fashion, now everything is global versus boutique. Technology helps you solve the problem of "How do I connect people with unique content" because you can provide content from a niche-based framework.

It marries words, images and sound in a way that other mediums can't.

What do you most want other women and young girls to know about being a woman in our digital culture?

To see technology as a tool of empowerment, because through digital channels you can be heard, you can be seen, and you can also join a conversation, and you can also solve issues and problems.

The Women in Tech campaign exists to help redefine what women in technology means in the 21st century. Started independently by a group of professional women who, after many impassioned discussions about women in tech knew we wanted to expand this definition beyond 'traditional' technology skills. To us, it includes most every current, emerging or evolving role within an organization. By featuring leaders and emerging leaders across industries who embody this we hope to collectively 'stand up', be proud of our place in the digital world and inspire young women or those new to the 'tech space' to get involved.
