Tell us your story.

Before the digital boom, I was playing on MS-DOS mode when I was 3 years old. My mom says I learned how to read by playing computer games. Ever since then, my parents have seen a need to help people through digital media. Today, I build and design websites for small businesses to help them improve their branding and message online.

What advice to you have to share with other women and young girls?

Don’t be intimidated by being the minority in the tech culture. You’ll realize that everyone has a different strength/niche in the industry, and the computer screen has no gender. 🙂

Pass it on!

Nature is my biggest inspiration. I love taking natural functions and movements and applying them to the online world. Nike and Oakley are huge inspirations with their user interface designs that they’ve built in the past few years. They make me want to be a better designer. Props to their coders!

The Women in Tech campaign exists to help redefine what women in technology means in the 21st century. Started independently by a group of professional women who, after many impassioned discussions about women in tech knew we wanted to expand this definition beyond ‘traditional’ technology skills. To us, it includes most every current, emerging or evolving role within an organization. By featuring leaders and emerging leaders across industries who embody this we hope to collectively ‘stand up’, be proud of our place in the digital world and inspire young women or those new to the ‘tech space’ to get involved.
