When I was developing the idea that became Legal Hero, it quickly became clear that technology would play a big role. I was inspired by the way that the digital space has transformed so many other service-based industries, and I knew that technology had the potential to transform the legal space as well. So I dove head-first into the digital space to learn the best ways to leverage technology to maximize efficiency and transparency in the delivery of legal services.

To list all of the people who helped me get here would be impossible, because there are so many! That said, there is a partner that I worked with at a previous job who really inspired me to pave my own way in the legal world. And, perhaps most importantly, I’m blessed with an unbelievably supportive spouse with a background in technology – what luck!

What do you most want other women and young girls to know about being a woman in our digital culture?

You’ll receive a lot of conflicting advice from a lot of people, because advice is always based on others’ own experiences. Listen to this advice, but ultimately do what feels right and consistent with your own values and goals.

The Women in Tech campaign exists to help redefine what women in technology means in the 21st century. Started independently by a group of professional women who, after many impassioned discussions about women in tech knew we wanted to expand this definition beyond ‘traditional’ technology skills. To us, it includes most every current, emerging or evolving role within an organization. By featuring leaders and emerging leaders across industries who embody this we hope to collectively ‘stand up’, be proud of our place in the digital world and inspire young women or those new to the ‘tech space’ to get involved.
